HI-BRIDGE HIE Connects with Carequality and CommonWell Networks

November 18, 2024

HI-BRIDGE HIE has connected with Carequality and CommonWell health information networks with our technology partner Innovar Healthcare to enhance patient care coordination by broadening access to patient clinical data through a secure health data exchange. These new connections are critical to increased access to patient data at the point of care for improved quality care delivery.

“Connecting HI-BRIDGE HIE with Carequality and CommonWell brings us a significant step forward in our mission to enhance patient care and increase health equity through technology,” said Carmen Hughes, MBA, Executive Director, HI-BRIDGE HIE. By expanding secure access to clinical data sources at the point of care, we empower healthcare providers with the critical information needed to deliver higher quality, coordinated care for all patients. “

HI-BRIDGE HIE is a regional electronic health information exchange that allows healthcare providers and patients to appropriately access and securely share patients’ vital medical information electronically — improving the speed, quality, safety, and cost of patient care. Healthcare providers must have a complete picture of a patient’s medical history to make well-informed clinical decisions. HI-BRIDGE HIE aims to promote the interoperability of EHRs, improve health outcomes in communities, and eliminate healthcare disparities throughout Georgia and this nation.

Carequality is a national-level, consensus-built, interoperability framework to enable exchange between and among health information networks. CommonWell is a nonprofit, nationwide network that delivers a secure and seamless flow of health information. Through the connection with Carequality and CommonWell health information networks, HI-BRIDGE HIE can expand secure access to patient health records and improve efficiency and care coordination.

“By forming this strategic connection with Carequality and CommonWell networks, we are empowering providers with broader access to essential patient data for optimal care delivery. Our team’s commitment to leveraging health information exchange is truly enhancing patient outcomes,” said Dominic Mack, M.D., MBA, Executive Medical Director, HI-BRIDGE HIE.
